The Sun
The Sun is the head of the solar system. It is also the most common of the ruling twelve planets that we use in astrology, as most of us know which Sun Sign we are. The Sun influences much of our basic personality, the things that most of us notice about ourselves I suppose. The most obvious of our traits and characteristics. It is easy for us to identify with the Sun as we can see it’s influence everyday here on Earth. This planet would not be as we know it today without the Sun to promote growth in pretty much every life form there is. Waking up on a sunny morning fills us with joy and puts a smile on our faces (especially those of us who live in the U.K!!).
The Suns qualities are of warmth and vitality, of being bright and cheerful, ambition and leadership and also rational matters. For a man it governs his power in every sense of the word, including his position in the household. For a Woman it represents the men in her life. Nowadays however, with Women becoming equal in status to men they look to the sun to find interpretations the same as it is for men.
A prominence of the Sun in your chart will mean that you will make a great leader and an intelligent one at that! This person won’t let much stand in his/her way and will often succeed in everything they take on. On the flip side though, too much sun in your chart can lead to a person being overly arrogant and turns a person into believing that they truly are superior to everyone else. Not the nicest of qualities to have in a person.
In Astrology the Sun rules over the sign of Leo, it’s house is the fifth and it’s day is Sunday.
