The Moon

moon.jpgThe Moon is the opposite to the bright and cheerful masculine Sun. It is the ruler of the night, the irrational and the occult, depth of feeling and the unconcious mind. Some more good qualities are aesthetic receptivity and affection. The more negative qualities are of moodiness and restlessness, following what everyone else is doing and impulsiveness. The fact that these people are very placid means that on the negative this can turn into passivity and timidity. Both the male and female will both share a very strong sense of loyalty and the women especially may be quite the ardent feminist, although very nurturing and loving as well.

The archetypal symbol is of the sea, which of-course is a huge body of which the Moon governs.

Our Moon Signs are not as commonplace as our Sun sign. But it is always very worthwhile finding out what your Moon sign is as it relates in astrology to perhaps the more in depth part of our personality, using your Moon sign alongside your Sun sign will give you a more finely tuned reading of your personality.

In Astrology the Moon rules over the sign of Cancer which is a Water sign. The night-time house, the fourth house and it’s day is Monday.

Thank you for this information! I’d be wonderful if you’d do a posting on traits of the moon in certain signs. For instance, what would a person with moon in Gemini be like or a person with moon in Scorpio? I’d definitely be interested in reading about that. Also, a posting about ascendant signs would be interesting, too.

Thanks for all of your hard work, Becky! This site is terrific!
