This is a list of symbols that you, as a Horse, should surround yourself with as they will help you to become your true self and give you a feeling of happiness and comfort.
Tree - ~ White Birch ~ Food - Vegetables ~ Flower - Narcissus ~ Fragrance- Wildflowers ~ Birthstone- Topaz ~ Number- 8 ~ Animal- Wildcat ~ Spice- Cloves ~ Herb- Parsley ~ Drink- Red Wine ~ Metal- Silver ~ Colour- Ebony. Well, this is me. I am a Horse, lucky me! What can I say; well I suppose the most predominant thing about a Horse is their thirst to be different, unusual and most definitely better than everyone else, at everything. The teenage years for a Horse are a most tormenting time. Horses don't take well to authority and as most of our youth is spent being told what to do by parents and teachers alike it's a pretty miserable time. Horse people most always leave home early and try and start up on their own. They are go getter's and will gladly plough their way through a lot of hard work and coffee making to get to where they wish to be at work. Horses are extremely talented people, they can do almost anything they put their mind to whether it's cooking for a thousand people or building their own houses, the Horse person will blind you with their capability. They are great people to be around and will be up for any kind of activity, especially outdoors. Horses hate to feel confined and must have lots of room to manoeuvre. Whatever the Horse chooses to do, whether it is raising a family or being a leading Journalist or Chef, the Horse will do it well. Of course everyone has their down sides and the Horse has one to. Theirs comes in the form of selfishness. Sometimes they become blinkered with what they are doing and so wrapped up with their own emotions that they lose sight of other people. The Horse is incredibly emotional and highly strung.
This person needs lots of good loving and reassurance from his/her partner to get them through the gloomy times in their life. It is a constant battle trying to maintain a neutral disposition as the Horse is always feeling "something". They are either up or down but hardly ever in between. In love some people accuse this Horsey of being cold and aloof. This is not true at all. Stimulate the Horse correctly and you will be in for a treat. Horses fall in love like a ton of bricks and all they wish is to stay like it for the rest of their lives. The Horse wants desperately to believe in a fairytale romance, where a knight comes to rescue her from her tower of torment (usually created by herself, Horses are their own worst enemy by far) but alas this seldom happens and the Horse normally finds that he/she has got involved with the wrong person and has to start all over again looking for Mr/Miss right. But once they have they will stay faithful and true for the rest of their lives, they aren't ones for promiscuity. We Horses don't have too much bad health. We are in fact very healthy people. It comes quite naturally to the Horse to stay fit as they love being active.
I myself love to go mountain biking, hiking, tennis and have recently taken up running. Exercise is a must for this highly strung creature as it serves as a good outlet for pent up emotion. Due to this pent up tension and anger the Horse can find that this leads to acid indigestion, cramps and back pain being a few of the physical forms in manifests itself in. On the serious side complete nervous collapse and even schizophrenia are a possibility. Although the Horse is very physically strong and healthy he/she must take her mental state seriously. And eating the right food such as fish, grains and vegetables will be a big help. Horses love to eat. All the time, but especially late at night, this is the worst possible time for your digestive system which in turn takes a bit of a battering. What we need as Horses is to learn to relax and take it easy. We are some of those who live the longest so we have plenty of time to do things, best not rush. On the upside I have struggled for many years with my nervous system and emotions, it has been a battle, but one worth fighting as I feel I am finally controlling "it" rather than "it" controlling me, so for any other highly strung Horses out there, there is hope for complete happiness
Horses are most compatible with: Tigers know how to push all the right buttons, Dogs are on your side as well, but it is a MUST to stay away from Oxen, Rabbits and especially Rats, none of these will benefit you at all and just add to your already fragile emotional state.

I’ve often heard that Gemini is the western astrology counterpart of the Horse. Would this explain why our “generations” (people born under horse years) have characteristics of Gemini? Like the nervousness, activeness, and overall “fidgety” nature?

Hey HL,
Yep there characters are similar in many ways which is why it is a hard combination to be and certainly one that takes a long time to learn how to live with.Sitting still almost becomes truly impossible!!

I agree with that. I have an emense amount of patience, due to being a Taurus, but because I’m year of the horse it seems to kill me sometimes!
What really bothers me is that because we can’t sit still for a long amount of time, we can’t form lasting relationships. It bothers me that I don’t have the same friends that I had even four years ago. And my romantic relationships? The longest a guy has lasted me was barely over a year, on and off. I hope this resolves with experience and good aging… But that fairytale romance sure never dies. I’m still as idealistic as I was when I was three.

Being a gemini/horse is really something. There are times when i’m outgoing, life of the party, everywhere and then there will be days when i close myself off to the world and fall into a deppression. But just as easy i can bounce out of it and be right back where i was before. Its exhausting yet there is really never a dull moment.

Hi! my name is naomi, and im very aware of horoscopes and such. i noticed how you made the link between gemini and the horse, and how they are very similiar. i dont agree with that at all. i am a scorpio horse and i have loads of energy usually…but i have not been able to do much with myself at all. I dont understand why you guys say this about us horses.. i have become very lazy and not at all like myself. I believe horoscopes only cover maybe 30% of a person, if that. We are all individuals who have gone through vastly different life experiences, and have seen and done very different things in life. Horoscopes cannot answer all of these personalities…. its like someone one day thought up these things one day and decided thats a way of categorizing us, or stereotyping us. I have an extremely large amount of knowledge on these subjects, and i dont find very much of them at all to be true. some parts sure, but however, that can all be generalized.

My daughter is an Aquarius Horse. We call her “Smarty Pants” around here. She’s intelligent and well loved by her teachers. You never have to tell her what to do, she knows exactly what is expected of her. She comes home sits and does her homework on her own, no help needed-thank you very much. At home she’s always stealing the show. She dresses up and makes up games and makes you sit down with her and play. She is always making up plays and acts them out or singing and forcing you to listen for hours on end. I have found out that most horses end up actors and I can see that in her.

Hi, Becky..
Yup, you described us most accurate. How’s the combined astrology coming?
Well, I’m a Capricorn born in Horse year and I think you can guess how troublesome it has been for me growing up ‘muddled’. Cappy is Earth sign. Horse is Fire sign. Earth and fire don’t mix well - we have burnt earth and distinguished fire there. Further fuelling my mishap is I’m the pessimist Cappy. Just imagine how I’d been in my teens. I was always stuck in the middle: Not wanting attention like the Cappy I am, but somehow always managed to turn myself on the spotlight, like the Horse I am. I recoil at the very rememberance of those.
I always wanted to be diplomatic and please everybody, but my hot head and stubborn mind landed me in hot waters instead. I always tried to buy elegant clothes to make a statement of my serious and matured thinking - and ended up looked either like a walking jewel coffer or gaudy sack of potatoes. My practical thinking and my emotions had been at war for eons and as a result, I appeared very unbalanced.
So, though securely employed and academically satisfied, living has been very difficult for me so far…

February 2nd, 2010 at 11:38 am
Hey, im a capricorn horse, and alot of people are mentioning how siilar horses are to geminis. and ill be the first to admit that i dont know much about geminis, but i do know alot about capricorns and the horse sounds sooooo similar to a capricorn its not even funny.
but then again i could be misreading it for my moon is in Aries. and maybe im just seeing the horse as a mixture of my cap sun and aries moon. not too sure.
what do you think?
