The Graceful Goat
The Goat is Yang (male)
Goat years are: 1907 ~ 1919 ~ 1931 ~ 1943 ~ 1955 ~ 1967 ~ 1979 ~ 1991 ~ 2003 ~ 2015 ~ 2027.
This is a list of symbols that you, as a Goat, should surround yourself with as they will help you to become your true self and give you a feeling of happiness and comfort.
Tree - ~ Dogwood ~ Food - Raw Vegetables ~ Flower - Narcissus ~ Fragrance- Apple Blossom ~ Birthstone- Sapphire ~ Number- 12 ~ Animal- Nightingale ~ Spice- Saffron ~ Herb- Mint ~ Drink- Mineral Water ~ Metal- Aluminium ~ Colour- Light Green.
Some of my heroes in life have been Goats, Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison also. So we shall start with their creative streak. Goats are very artistic in some way or another, whichever of the arts they chose to pursue they will thrive and do well for they have a natural ability. These people are the Chinese Zodiacs Hippies! They are very in tune with nature and are very laid back.
Goats need security; they must feel safe for them to be able to achieve much. They need a good loving home and someone to keep an eye on them. They also need some pushing around to make them do things; they don’t seem to worry about time and could lose lifetimes sitting in a creative muse, so to help them along some gentle yanking may be in order. No point shouting though, they won’t care; you would be wasting your lungs. Goats do not panic or get uptight they merely deal with the situation. Good for them!!
Rules and regulations are two words that the Goat person does not have in his/her vocabulary. They simply will not conform to rules and would be quite at home living in a tent in the middle of a forest. As long as there is someone there to love and nurture the Goat, it would be fine. But probably not too many people want to live in a tent in the middle of nowhere so the Goat could find himself alone, which is where it all goes wrong for the poor Goat.
In a relationship it would be your job to look after the Goat, if the cupboards are bare, that’s OK. The Goat will be sure to wait until you get back with the shopping! But they do need you, they hate to be alone, it’s not their style. Just because they are dreamers and spend a lot of time thinking does not mean they don’t need you, more than you know they need you; just remember that if you ever get frustrated by your darling Goaty.
Goats are ethereal creatures; they are not macho, not at all. It can sometimes to be hard to tell if this creature is ill or not as they spend periods inside themselves being artistic, floating around in their own reality, which by the way, is not the one most of us dwell in. You won’t get much help from them either in finding out what’s wrong, they will normally tell you their tired and go and lay down somewhere nice and comfy. Goats do often suffer with hay-fever and allergies, sinus problems can plague them also. Goat people must stay well away from drink and especially drugs as they are highly susceptible to these and it can have very bad out comes for them. The best advice I can give you Goats is this, sleep at night, for about 7 hours instead of napping whenever you get the chance. Eat healthily and please do something other than learning how to look good lying on the sofa, the ideas in your head might be fabulous but unless you move and do something about none of us mortal beings will ever know!
Goats are most compatible with: Rabbits work well for you as do Horses who know best how to work hard for others, the lovely Pig could be a perfect match for you also. But stay clear of Tigers and Oxen, they don’t approve of your living ideas.

Funny you should mention Kurt Cobain because I have a friend who has his same birthdate and birth year. It’s true, despite being over twenty years older than me, he always needs someone to take care of him. He is very artistic. He’s been a musician all his life, just like Cobain himself, but without the drugs and depression and unwanted fame. And he’s not macho at all either. Quite feminine, but with a man’s dignity, if that makes sense…

Hi there HL,
Yes it makes perfect sense! ‘Quite feminine, but with a man’s dignity’ beautifully put!!

Oh my! That really did make me giggle!
I’m a Goat AND a Virgo…so although my laid back Goat personality, means I’m totally lazy and prone to daydreaming, the Virgo in me gets frustrated by the lack of organisation!!!!
I’m much more a Goat than a Virgo though, so I tend to let the Goat take over…
I really loved that description, it’s me all over! Now I just have to show it to everyone I know, so I can say, “See! It’s not just me!”
Hahaha!

LOL! All these years I thought I was a monkey! Then I figured out it doesn’t start until the 4th of febuary in 1992! I’ve been a goat all along and never knew it! It’s amazing! So true too! All of it!
Hey…and in the matching…what about monkey’s?

Hello Ms. Trauntvein,
I know you have a sense of humour. This is just for fun.
Aren’t you happy that after all those years you found out that you ain’t a Monkey but a Goat. I think you are a human being first. By the way, Goats are compatible with Goats and Monkeys are with Monkeys. I haven’t yet seen and heard anything about Goats dating Monkeys in the jungle and Monkeys dating Goats in the barn.
I am an OX who lives in the barn and occassionally swim in the pond when its hot out there. I can’t date and love Rats, Roosters, and Dogs because they are too small for me neither I have compatibility with Tigers because they can hurt me. I am looking for a Dragon but ahhhh, they only exist in story books.
Have a nice day.

Hello Bohemian,
Very good! Very funny! However I would just like to say incase you have confused anyone that Ox are very compatible with Rats and should NEVER even both trying with a Tiger!!

Lol so You think tiger would hurt You But a dragon wouldn’t?!! at least tigers dont have breaths of fire, a dragon would roast You long before You had the chance to say You are hurt!
I’ve always read that rats match well with the Ox, as becky said, occasionally i;ve also read that it goes with the goat? Not sure.

Hi there Midnight
That is a very good point about the Dragon!! ha he didn’t think of that! (i’m assuming it was a man..for obvious reasons lol)
Rat’s don’t really go that well with goats due to the goat having quite a laid back tendancy and Rat’s not having that at all..could probably learn from each other though..IF they chose to!!

Midnight, you have negative thoughts on Roasting the Ox by the Dragons. I think you like barbecue a lot. Anyways, I’m looking for a Dragon because its just a part of stories. I won’t find anyone so go for things you don’t find which means you have a strong taste for the mysterious and exploration.
More so, Goats and Ox live in the same barn as they have been domesticated by Man but they are not compatible because they are neigbours and you know what neighbours are really like.
** I am a previous contributor of the blog with different identity. Any guessess???
Thanks for laughing. Ciao.

Ah, dead on. This makes me want to get out of my tent for a little while. Maybe I’ll find someone who wants to join my tent, while I’m out and about.

u are the only person/site that has ever refurred a the year of the sheep to the year of the goat..where did u get this idea or is this one of those uk things like the bear…lol

hi there,
No I’m afraid I’m not. It has always been either the Sheep or the Goat. I grew up reading books by Suzanne White and she uses the Goat, but so do some Chinese. She always describes the Year of the Rabbit as the Year of the Cat as well, but I thought that may confuse people lol

well, that was pretty acurate i would have to say! The funny thing is though, my western sign(Capricorn)is very macho and authoratative. So, i’m guessing i must be the perfect balance! haha

I’m a Libra/Goat combo. Your description describes me perfectly. The Goat seems to have a lot of Libra traits as well.
My husband’s a Virgo/Dragon. I don’t see that much of the Dragon in him unless maybe it tends to come out at his job. He’s just not like that at home. On the rare occasion we’ve argued, I do agree with the temper. But I’ve got a ton of fire in my astro chart that would never tolerate someone dominating me…
I’d love to see you post the eastern/western combinations. This is a new topic for me and I find it fascinating and want to learn more!
This is my absolute favorite astrology website! I get lost in here for hours! Keep up the awesome work, Becky!
