Ophiuchus - The 13th Sign of the Zodiac |

I would just like to say that what I have written below is based on research for those interested in the 13th sign NOT on my own beliefs. I remain a firm believer in the 12 sign zodiac but will carry on my research. To those of you who are heavily religious - please do not use my site to put down those of us who don’t share in your beliefs, this is after all an astrological website so please respect that. Also any comments abusing any person and/or their beliefs will not be approved. The 13th sign of the zodiac, unlike the other 12 signs is actually associated with a real person. In the 27th Century BCE in Ancient Egypt lived a man known as Imhotep. Imhotep was known as ‘Aesclepius’ by the Ancient Greeks, however the attributes are the same under either name.
One of Imhoteps abilities was healing and it is said that it was he who introduced it to mankind. His accomplishments also included a wide knowledge of medicine. The serpent or snake symbol which is still used today to symbolize the medical profession was also used to represent Imhotep. Below is a list of attributes associated with the Serpent Holder, Imhotep i.e Aesclepius. The descriptions below are associated with the 13th sign - Ophiuchus.
- Many people are envious of this subject as he progresses well throughout life.
- A seeker of wisdom and knowledge
- Many people are jealous of this person
- Tends to go for the more flamboyant in dress sense, favouring bright colours.
- Authority looks upon him well.
- Would make a great architect or builder.
- Number 12 is this persons lucky number.
- This person will have a big family but leave home at an early age.
This is the Zodiac as some astrologers believe it should be: ARIES = APRIL 19 - MAY 13 TAURUS = MAY 14 - JUNE 19 GEMINI = JUNE 20 - JULY 20 CANCER = JULY 21 - AUG 9 LEO = AUGUST 10 - SEPTEMBER 15 VIRGO = SEPTEMBER 16 - OCTOBER 30 LIBRA = OCTOBER 31 - NOVEMBER 22 SCORPIO = NOVEMBER 23 - NOVEMBER 29 OPHIUCHUS = NOVEMBER 30 - DECEMBER 17 SAGITTARIUS = DECEMBER 18 - JANUARY 18 CAPRICORN = JANUARY 19 - FEBRUARY 15 AQUARIUS = FEBRUARY 16 - MARCH 11 PISCES = MARCH 12 - APRIL 18 I’m not sure myself about the qualities of that of Ophiucus, but perhaps if you mix Scorpio with Sagittarius you may come up with something along the right lines. What is this? i know that it says im the serpent but honestly?
It seems to me more of a capricorn with an added trait. Capricorns work hard and do one thing at a time until they succeed. Meaning they gain knowledge and acquire their goals. The serpent is more like a capricorn that can also heal.
I dont think the serpent should be added, and to be frank, i always thought i would bring about the end or save it during 12.21.12
But if i’m supposed to bring the end then i’d rather be a capricorn with my wisdom and hard working and my knowledge. Besides, it would be best to keep with tradition than to change anything.

I think scorpios are alright. That is interesting maybe i am that sign. I have a mixture of influences in life and cultures and always seem to be taken up with trying to help people. There is only one of me however hard i may try only can pay attention one at a time. So a healer can be not only medical but just smiles in friendship and everyone together. Even though people have different views and tastes.

Okay. I was born March 26, 1990. But I’ve alway thought I was an Aries. I had majority of the Aries traits, but according to this I’m an Aquarius. And now that I’ve read up on Aquarius, I’ve discovered that I share many traits with that as well. So what exactly am I?

OPHIUCHUS I believe in this one as my sign….the SAGITTARIUS sign is me a lil..but why doesn’t any astrologist’ let us see this ….i was born between midnight and day break and my grand mama said i would see & hear signs,i do..she did… i have been to places that i have dreamed about..i have know of deaths in family a week in advance. it scares me..i do think i have a gift but one from God…..i have read the story about the snake bearer saving all the animals in the myths …I am a animal , nature person at heart. i’d rather be out side than in…so can you do a chart on me?..phyllis

I was born june 27 and have always been and fit the cancer sign. my sister is may22 and she has always fit the gemini sign. i dont think this changing things around is ok just because someone wants to be something else is what it seems like. I get we are always gaining more knowledge but come on people you can’t keep changing things just for fun. i will stay with the signs that have been around for ever.. because as to everyone i know they fit them..

I was born on April 12th, I am such a typical Aries that I cannot accept the notion of being a Pisces. I have the Warrior spirit, born leader, never follow anyone, I take charge of situations I feel i have to, but am content pullng strings and controlling/manipulating those around me to my desire. Headstrong, performer, artist, anti-authoritarian till I die! I was born under the Cardinal Fire sign in a family consisting of a pair of Gemini’s, yes twins as well, dad and brother are Leos, and mother is a Saggitarius, we are all very typical of our signs. I don’t believe in this new zodiac especially with Scorpio only being 6 days long…

As we disocverer more and more what is not known about the subject at hand it is definitely cause for pause in traditional thinking. Do any of you KNOW what you are talking about? Between the discoveries of Sedna,Ophiuchus and planets not yet known about as well as the demotion of Pluto’s status. How can anyone get a true read on any of this? A Want to be believer..

jan 9th-75…. I am cam through and through… I can’t be a sag coz I do not think I know it all like two of my best friends they are impossible. Now I know why Scorps ave such bad tude they have short day syndrome…lol. I’ll never date a scorp again..lol. maybe they are so cute. But we can control everything except the stars. Capforvercharmed.

i used to think i was a virgo. my bday is sept 1st 199*. i wont share the last number for privacy sakes. after reading the original article it said i was included into the leo group. i looked up leo’s and im definetly not one. i fit the virgo description quite well tho so i stuck with that. then i saw “harry1ophi1″’s post about people born after 1990. and THAT said i was a cancer. well then i looked up cancer and it turns out i definetly am one. virgo matched me well but there were a cuple certain things that werent me. cancer is exact. even tho others may have tried to diss you “harry1ophi1″.. i thank you for posting that. it gave me a sense of knowing my own personality

I don’t agree with it. Im a Taurus, it fits me to a tee, and Im not going to change it because this scientist comes up with a new sign. I’m sticking with the original, and feel greatly that this man has come up with some pure BS in my opinion.

I’ve been a fallower of the zodiac for a very long time in fact my mother was the one who introduced me to it and i have found that i am sag.with a cap. cusp and it has worked well and i seem to be both so will this mess up all i believe and was taught from being a small child it would be nice to know.Well i hope it gets all sorted out so i can see where i’m going this year it been good so far i guess it can only get that much better with this right.

I don’t like this at all…I was born March 6, 1990, and I am most certainly a pisces!! Everything about the pisces is me for sure!! Although, the horoscopes this zodiac offers are very general (and as they should be to encompensate everyone born under one sign), and I tend to follow the Chinese Zodiac horoscopes more. I also fit that one (horse) completely! Of course the main thing about both (sensitivity) are the same haha

I can’t believe this. I was born in Oct ‘89 and have always considered myself a Scorpio. I’ve dug around on a lot of different websites in the last year, learning about the Scorpio traits and all of the descriptions fit me perfectly. I mean, perfectly. But…according to this, I’m a Virgo. Worse still if you go by harry1ophi1’s chart, I’m a Leo!!! That’s not possible. I’ve been around Leos quite a bit and we’re nothing a like. Sorry, but I’ve got to stick with the old way. I’m a Scorpio through and through and I know it.

Well, they say that Scorpio is a long and skinny constellation, so the sun isn’t there for too long. That’s why it’s so short now.
What I don’t get is are the attributes and the descriptions of our astrological signs going to change too? Like is the old description of a cancer going to fit a description of a gemini since it changed? Because I am most definitely the exact mold of a cancer. I have ALL the attributes of a cancer. So if I’m technically a gemini, then why would I be just like a cancer? it makes no sense at all. Astronomers are stupid. I want to SLAP them. They should have just left it alone. It makes absolutely no difference if they recognize the 13th constellation or not. They could have just ignored it and we would have all went on with our merry lives without a notice and none of us would have to get so irritated by it. But whoever let the cat out of the bag just wanted recognition and money for it. And I say let the cat out of the bag because astronomers have known about this for many many years, they just have left it alone. The sign has been recognized for over 200 years, but no one said anything. They should have just left it that way. STUPID

I refuse to acknowledge my new sign. It’s one of the 2 signs of the 12-sign zodiac that I always stayed away from in friendships and relationships, and now I’m supposed to BE one?! yeah - that’s not gon’ happen.

I don’t think it’s true. This new zodiac thing puts me from Virgo to Leo. I do not have any Leo characters.. Maybe the dates should be changed.
